The closing docs weren't sent to the notary for my scheduled date (Monday). I called and emailed My MAC team Tuesday and Wednesday and got no response. I emailed Merrill directly Thursday and she got the closing done on the Friday. But My MAC team sent three versions of the closing summary and none of them were correct. I called Merrill Friday and she promised to fix the docs, which did get done the next week.
The customer service was extremely helpful and timely. They kept me informed every step of the way and although we are going through this Pandemic, they responded to my questions timely and professionally. This process from start to finish was quicker than I thought it would be. It was a painless experience that I would recommend to family and friends.
KEEP FOLKS LIKE ME INFORMED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I AM NOT COMPUTER LITERATE AND TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU PEOPLE WAS A PAIN. PASSWORD THIS AND PASSWORD THAT, CRIPS I THINK WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN, IF I GO THERE, I HOPE THERE IS NO PASSWORDS. OH, AND NO PHONES. TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU PEOPLE IS LIKE TRYING TO CALL THE WHITE HOUSE. NOT THAT I TRIED TO CALL THE WHITE HOUSE AND TELL THE PRESIDENT OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WIFE HE HAS.,...... SHE IS BEAUTIFUL.

My experience with PennyMac was very pleasant from beginning to end.
My closing was missed multiple times due failure of penny mac staff to follow up or review their work and poor communication. Start to finish, end of March to August. The processing of my loan application and loan documents basically only occurred due to repetitive prompting on my part of my loan team. 90% of communication occurred with my initiative, and I went multiple week without updates or request by my team.
The process to refi with a lender you are already doing business with takes too long. I was expecting 2 weeks. After initial complication and pricing issues, it took 2 months. I feel that the rates for in house refi was too high because of standard fees that I felt were already apart of my original loan, and my have been reused.
Jacob was wonderful to work with. He communicated every step of the way and made everything very clear for us
