If it weren't for Hilda, I probably would have let this refinance go. PennyMac made the mistake of overlooking the documents and not seeing the payoff quote to my home equity line. This delayed my loan closing by almost 2 months! I went passed my lock date because this document was overlooked. After every request for a payoff quote, PennyMac did not follow up with me whether or not they received it. I even had to reschedule closing dates on the day of my initial closing.

Overall, the correspondence with the loan processor lacked some details that would have prevented additional emails to clarify. Other than that, our processor was friendly and helpful. It would be better to have the loan officer to oversee the process vs. getting the loan started, then passing the customer on to an 800 number and loan processor only.

Only hiccup I seen was the closing department did not send the closing documents to the title company. That delayed the process by a week. The closing department also didn't communicate that back to Belinda.

Process was way longer than originally promised. Confusion over appraisal, closing docs and money back from escrow.
