I began the process in March of 2020. I did not close till until the middle of June. The same documents were requested over and over. I had to keep calling to find out out the progress and to see if I had to make my monthly payment. Then, right before closing, I was told I needed $2996.( When we started the process, I was told I would not need any money to close.) I would shop around for other companies before using PennyMac again.
This was literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with an organization like this. It took two or three weeks to get my initial question answered from Brandon Locke. I literally had to beg on an email for him to call me back. Then on the day of closing I had money due at closing which Brandon said I would not. I called probably 10 times in 24 hours and NEVER heard back from him. I requested a manager to call back which Clark Smith. Brandon and his manager NEVER actually called back. Horrible

Between Loan officers Linda Frazer and Billy Manapat you couldn't ask for a better 2 employees. Both Linda and Billy led me through the loan process Refi with great communication, great knowledge of all aspects of the loan and both were on top of the loan from the start to the end of the loan. I couldn't ask for any better Penny Mac employees ( Loan Officer's) to handle my loan and I opinion are a great asset to Penny Mac
Jamie Wright was very communicative and respectful. Knows what he's talking about. Made the process very smooth and pleasent!
There were a few issues with the closing documents all the way up to the moment I signed. Jamie did his best to explain what was going on. Closing took about 90 days which was a bit more time than quoted by Kristen, but all was communicated in due time.
Since I already held my mortgage with PennyMac and you already possessed every piece of personal and financial information necessary for a refinance the quantity of new required documents was absurd. I was initially told that the process was quick and simple. Not true. I would never have agreed to refinance if I knew how many documents I had to produce again. It was as if PennyMac did not know me as a 4 year customer that never missed one payment and in fact paid every payment early.
