Return calls. Be able to actually speak to loan officer and processor directly vs. going through a main number and talking with someone who then had to relay messages to Loan officer and processor. After signing loan documents, I noticed my name was spelt incorrectly on the Deed of Trust and also that it was spelled incorrectly on the initial Preliminary Title Report (item #4). I immediately called the main line to tell the loan officer and processor that the Deed of Trust and Prelim.........

The only person who screw things up for me and was consistently customer focused was my loan officer, Jason Pliska. He was fantastic, going above and beyond even when it wasn't his part of the process. Everyone else pretty much failed. PennyMac decided that I needed flood insurance when I've never needed it before AND my property is clearly not in a flood zone. FEMA maps show that and the appraisal shows that. Closing process delay weeks due to this. There is more but I don't have space.

Communication between departments is lacking. Processors asked for the same paperwork over and over again that was sent to the loan officer.

We are loyal PennyMac customers. This is the third refi we've been through with PennyMac. Always helpful customer service keep us loyal. It's a shame so much junk mail gets thrown away from others attempting to lure us away. Not going to happen. PennyMac rocks!

Sara Olsen was very prompt and stayed in touch regularly. However, requested documents would not load properly to the portal. Then when asked to resend over email, those copies were lost (even though Sara said she received them. Bank statement documents were requested to verify “a reserve of $11,990” without ANY explanation of what the $11,990 referred to, causing confusion on what the requester was looking for. Overall, the document request process was VERY confusing and frustrating.
