Great fast service
The overall process was explained very clearly. The staff at PennyMac were very knowledgeable about the entire process. My only gripes would be that the online portal for the application asked for documents more than once that we already signed. Then when I called the staff didn't know what I was talking about. It seemed like what they could see in my portal and what I could see were two different things. Which can be confusing. Think it's a system error though, not human error. Staff was great.
The process was smooth and constant communication. It was great having a team working to help us with our refinancing. The process was supposed to take around 30 days but the team was finished within three weeks. We received emails to let us know that certain documents were available for us to sign electronically. Penny Mac sent over a representative to our house to sign the closing paperwork. This was a great experience!
Very easy process
I felt the weekly updates were helpful, however I did expect a brief summary of each stage of the process or review included in the weekly updates. In addition, I was under the impression the refi process turn around time would have been quicker since the refi was with my current lender. Furthermore, it was surprising the employment verification challenge was brought to my attention after the closing packet was signed a week before. Perhaps clear expectations set ahead would’ve helped.
PennyMac has been great to me! This is my second mortgage with the company and do not regret my decision. Any responses that were low, were not for PennyMac as a whole, but for the HLS I was assigned. I would encourage some sort of email etiquette webinar for some staff. Over the phone however, services were outstanding!

My loan closed just before the whole Corona virus outbreak happened. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and had a sense of urgency to my needs. I am extremely pleased that we got it finished before things started get bad. Thank you so much. It is a pleasure to continue to do business with you. Anthony was also very helpful in getting the refinance completed.
