Communication and responses to our emails. Our real estate team (realtor and escrow) were on board with our closing dates and timeline, but even they were having difficulty getting answers from PennyMac. We understand we're just one application out of many, but this was a big deal for us, and to not get responses from all contacts within PennyMac created a lot of undue stress.
Overall the experience was more than unpleasant. From day one, our loan was set up to fail on delivering. When spoken to about locking in the interest rate and setting a closing date, Bethany, informed us to set it at June 30th since that is the end of the 45 day lock-in period and it was a safe bet. This was even though we told her the house was scheduled to be finished on June 22nd and our AirBnb ended on June 27th, she said it would not be an issue to close early. Jessica Raynor was fine, and no issues with the service she provided. My Loan Officer told me there wasn't going to be a hard inquiry on my credit, yet there was. He told me there wasn't a need to do all this extra paper work because of the VA IRRL, which would make it quick. It was no different than any other loan and I should have shopped around.
