Perhaps, staff needs to receive some additional training. There were significant delays in communication, ignoring e-mails. Many requests to provide documents that were already uploaded to the portal. Miscommunication with the employer. Manager was not responding either, ignored requests for a call. I have to say that my previous experiences with PennyMac were much better, but this last transaction was really different in terms of the approach, communication and quality...

I was told during the application process I would not need my 2021 tax returns to get through underwriting. After missing the first closing date because underwriting had not gone through I was told I did NEED my 2021 taxes filed. This was two days after tax day so I had to expedite filing with my CPA two days after the busiest day of his year. This would have all been very easy to avoid if the team at PennyMac knew what would be required to get through underwriting an FHA loan. I think this is a pretty easy area for the team... read more

This loan process was so drawn out. The fact that you use so may third party sources made the closing later than expected. Documents were requested multiple times after they were already filled out. I was given time frames of when things would be completed and they were consistently done at the far end of the estimate and twice after they were supposed to be done. I would not recommend or attempt to use PennyMac again

This process of giving each borrower a team and then having a single point of contact in that team is extremely helpful. My team lead contacted me the same time once a week on our agreed time. They were also extremely respondent to any questions/concerns I had in the interim. I felt comfortable and in control through the entire process!!!!

Direct communication with the same representative, instead of repeatedly explaining the situation to countless reps who were incapable of assisting us. We were given false information repeatedly until the DAY of closing. Closing documents were incorrect four times on the day of closing and we ended up giving up and signing an incorrect closing document just so that we could finish closing on that day.
