Probably because of the old black-and-white photos of Phoenix that cover the walls or the ease with which the patrons settle in for a casual meal or a drink at the bar. This is my favorite restaurant hands down. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the service is top notch and after many years I have never had anything but a fantastic meal The menu is so varied that you can order appetizers only, a full dinner for what I consider the best burger in Phoenix. They have a full bar and a variety of wines. I love a restaurant where the owner is always there and he does an unbelievable job in hiring the best people and presenting the best food.

Another wonderful evening and meal at the PCD. We were meeting a new friend and so wanted a place we could talk, not rush AND have a great meal. Nailed all 3. Our waitress was very patient letting us take our time ordering. Between the 3 of us we had the Pollo Asado, Roseland Chicken (might have the names wrong there) and a steak. All were excellent- my husband said he hadn't had a steak that good in a long time. We didn't save room for desert, but we'll know better next time.
