The Port Admiral Hotel seemed to be one of the only places open over the Easter long weekend, and I'm glad it was. Although hearing rumours that the staff are "unfriendly," we decided to head in for lunch. Firstly, the staff were lovely and cheerfully greeted us as we came in. They let us know that there was a 15% surcharge for the holiday period, understandable. 26May25 - Veg Parmi was nice and Garlic prawn was well done. Can't say the same for the pork so I've been told; the rice was a bit undercooked so I can taste the hard inner grain.
I'm so grateful for places like Port Admiral that are 100% coeliac safe. We had a delicious pub meal without the usual stress of coeliac eating out... probably the best chicken parmi we've ever had full stop!
I had a lovely lunch at the Port Admiral, it far exceeded my expectations in regards to quality of the food and the staff were exceptional, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We selected the venue as one of our party requires gluten free options and she was spoiled for choice with an extensive menu and an array of delicious looking food options, all 100% gluten free. Had a delightful (large) dinner at this hotel which had the lovely Jennifer catering to our needs. What a breath of fresh air she is! Ensured we were happy. Extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. Chatty without being overbearing. She alone is a great reason to return and, the ambience and food ain’t half bad either. Thank you Jennifer for making our evening. Note: should have taken a picture of the large chicken wings and ribs serve. My god don’t order it unless you are seriously famished!
