I so agree with "Chewy" and the others who saw thru this deception! They advertise such great rates ($130 for a 10' by 10' unit) so we got our units way over there from Fishkill, then they sneak in those many rate hikes and before we knew it, it was well over $200 a month for just her 10' by 10' unit, in a 'very short time'!...Being a Vietnam veteran, I can relate to "Chewy" as he was being deployed overseas, probably to a war zone, in the military and the last thing he was thinking about was his storage bill. Professional but sneaky to up the rent charges of the unit. From initial sales point of saying that in 6 to 9 months the price would go up to price hike in the 3rd month is crazy work for me. As far as i know, no military discount and no yearly plans make prime get a three star rating from me. When military get deployed the last thing o my mind should be rent hikes rising on a storage unit that initially is offered to first timers at such lower rates. They will bankrupt you quick. I started as an online college student when they took over the storage units, and in less than a year it jumped to $300. They would not revert to the contracted amount, and when the account was due on the second month they charged me $1,000. So what started as $100 a month quickly turned into $1,000. The storage unit just down the block charges $60 for that same unit. Save your money and don't get a storage unit from this place.
Only had this storage unit for 6 months. During this time the rates went up 2 times which made us leave the facility. I called customer service to see what they could do to save our business and they were extremely rude. Highly recommend finding a local storage unit not a big company.
Will consistently try and increase your rates every month. Auto charge a credit card without prior approval. No one is ever there in person. When I moved out at the end of the month and tried to close the account, no one was there, and no one answered the digital kiosk. I followed up the following week to close the unit. I was told I was supposed to give 15 days prior notice and they charged me for the full month. I asked to speak to someone in person and no one ever called me. I would not recommend prime storage
