Loved this visit and tour! Family friendly and very interactive. Activity levels available for all capabilities. We loved climbing in and out of the dwellings and even getting to try the ladder with our 2 year old. Would definitely recommend when in the Santa Fe!
We had a wonderful experience visiting even though we didn’t have time for the tour. We had great discussions with the folks who work there. It was wonderful to learn about the extensive history and the connection to the modern community. It’s a lovely spot off the beaten path that gives a chance to drive through the beautiful desert. Since the cave dwellings are fragile, they only allow access with a tour, which makes sense to protect the history and the safety of visitors. Thank you for such a joyous visit!
Pretty cool place to see cliff dwellings. Unfortunately we were to late for the tour , which I would recommend, but you can still see a fair amount from the visitors center. The visitors center is located in a old Fred Harvey house. Beautiful area. This is an all ages activity. Different tours available including one that goes to the top of the Mesa where there was once a large settlement. Small gift shop and public bathrooms. There is NO self guided tour here.

We then descended the carved "staircase" down the side of the cliffs and visited one of the cliff homes, stopping to see how they were constructed, some petroglyphs that once adorned the inside of the homes, and seeing pieces of pottery, arrowheads, and incredible artifacts along the way. This is a tour not to be missed - this area is ... read more
