Although the service n support team are good and always try to help, they have an uphill battle because the trolling motor sucks! Only 2.5 years old with less than 30hrs and HCB and MCB had to be replaced under warranty. Tried to deploy for first time this season but now the lower unit also needs to be repaired and just 6mos beyond warranty. Now they want $900 for a new lower unit + over $100 for shipping! Most of the positive reviews are older. If I could give it zero stars I would. Really like the guys that support the product but the product is absolute garbage. Replaced the lower unit once under warranty. Replaced miscellaneous other parts under warranty. Last time I took it there, still 1 week left on warranty, told me something was loose and I should be careful. Also told me that I had not calibrated it to go forward when deployed, wrong. All trolling motors have problems. Since 2019 I have had issues with the top trolling motors. Rhodan outlasted Motorguide by 8mths and MinnKota by 6mths not bad. It took Motorguide 1year and 2 mths to get me a mother board. MinnKota a year, Rhodan 2days the first time and as of today over night. Customer service is great when your motor is under warranty. After warranty expires, find another trolling motor.
I’ve had my Rhodan for two years now. Warranty just expired. I’ve only had it back for two weeks since it was last fixed and it is down yet again. I am a full time charter captain. And this trolling motor worked maybe 7 months out of the two years. I’ve done everything by the book. And everything has been replaced on it at least once. The only reason I stayed with it for this long was because I could get it fixed the same day.
