I feel like he doesn't put as much time or effort into some of his patients that he should. He's pretty willing to write things off, even when you're still having symptoms. To be fair, he was very empathetic about my mental health and even helped me find a psychiatrist. Overall, he's not a bad doctor, he seems to care. I think he may just be a bit jaded or overworked.

I consider myself very lucky to find Dr. Dyksterhouse. He is thorough, professional, and empathetic.

Dr. Dykesterhouse is such an amazing and friendly guy you'd ever known. He helps you no matter what. He listens and act accordingly. Always ready to answer my questions, although sometimes I'm very annoying but he listens and explains calmly. Just great!

I told him my concerns. He wrote them all off. Found a different PCP. They listened. Referred me to every specialist I asked him to refer me to. He went off “labs” even told me low vitamin D isn’t alarming, even though I’m African American. My labs weren’t even all normal. He just wrote them off as insignificant. If you actually know about your health, and can advocate for yourself, don’t go to him, he’s got a complex.

Dr. Dyksterhouse lacks empathy and will not go out of his way to help you if you face a medical problem that is out of the ordinary. For example, I had an issue that required immediate attention and called him for a recommendation for a specialist. Although he is affiliated with a major NY hospital with many specialists, he told me to just go on an Internet website (not affiliated with his office or hospital) and book an appointment with whomever is available.
