This is my third annual physical with Dr. Planer. I'm so glad my former Dr did not take my new insurance! That's how I discovered Dr. P. He's knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and kind. He knows his stuff, calling himself a "nerd"...you WANT a nerd as a doctor! But not only is he great with your medical/physical stuff, but he would also have made an awesome counselor. He doesn't waste time but he listens...and he is thorough without putting you through 1,000 tests. He makes recommendations gently and is not at all pushy and ... read more

My mom has been with Dr Planer for several years. He isn't friendly and has no bedside manners to speak of. He put her on a pain medication due to her cancer treatments and a myriad of other painful ailments. He also kept her on an antianxiety med that her previous Dr put her on for her chronic anxiety and difficulty sleeping. However, he ABRUPTLY stopped both without explanation. She's been suffering immensely ever since. He doesn't care about her at all. He's more concerned about CHOA than anything else.

I have been a patient for 4 years. Prescriptions refills often take a week or more, if not ignored completely. Dr. Planer’s “team”, lack the basic skill of teamwork. The visit always ends abruptly, with him saying he’ll be right back. He never comes back. I’ve learned to spew all of my issues immediately, to avoid them being ignored.

It’s very sad that young generation of doctors like Dr. Planer are lacking compassion and not taking good care of their clients. My experience with st jospehs health wasnt great even when I was quite healthy, but now when I do need medical help and my condition requires more doctors involvement its becoming completely unacceptable. There is no excuse that after asking provider for 6 month to send the prior authorization for pain medication he still finding excuses not to do it correctly. My experience has been similar to Stephen- Apr15, 2021. In one case it took them 3 months to address my concerns. 3 months! Recently, I called with a serious medical condition, got no reply, and then logged into my St. Joseph's account and requested an appointment. I gave up after 72 hours of no reply. Urgent care took care of me the same day and prevented a potentially life-threatening situation. I am looking elsewhere for a family doctor, as his answering service is bad for my health.

I've never seen anything like this doctor's office, and I've been to A LOT of doctors! My family member was sick for weeks and we wasted 24 or 48 hrs at a time waiting for a call back from this office. To even get through you have to go through a switchboard, leave a message and wait for someone to call you back, but it won't be the same day for sure. 1st appt March 2020was great, 2nd apptJune he left exam rm “to check something” had nurse dismiss me without starting the referral I requested. On 8/10 I requested 3rd appt, have 2 wait til 8/28. He may be Overextended?
