Let me make this clear. I DID NOT FOLLOW YOUR ADVICE. DO NOT TRY AND TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR HER RECOVERY. Summer Vet will always be my first choice over you. I only called you because I truly believed she was dying. If you are not equipped for emergencies, and why wouldn't you be, you could have stabilized her and sent us on our way. Bottom line is, even as I was SOBBING on the line with you, you wouldn't help my baby. End of story.

Business response:

Dear LS. As you stated, you had an emergency with your Yorkie on Saturday 7/20/19 and when you called us, based on the symptoms you described, we recommended that you take her to an emergency hospital. Emergency hospitals such as Sumner are staffed and equipped to take care of such emergencies. While we may be two minutes away from your home and convenient for you, we already had patients in our hospital under our care and adding another would have would have taken our time and attention away from them and we would not have ... read more

If you love your pet do not bring it into this place, they will lie to you and tell you that they are going to do a surgery one way and then do it a very cheap way I spent thousands with them. I would not let them do the surgery on my Chorkies back legs until I spoke with the surgeon Dr. mayo, we had a meeting and he showed exactly what he was going to do so that this would not occur again I was really impressed with him he wore blue jeans and a workingman shirt and seem to really care. When I brought Max in for a check up a... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback, Neil. We are rather puzzled at your review though, because the surgery you brought Max in for was with an outside surgeon back in 2014. In looking at the record, the last time we spoke to you was in 2016 and you told us at that time that Max has a regular veterinarian and that you only brought him in to our hospital for his surgery with Dr. Mayo in 2014. That being said, please feel free to call us so we can address any further concerns you may have.

I have brought my pets to this clinic for 30 plus years so it's a shame that I have to write this. Obviously, due to the longevity of having them help me with my pets through the years there has been some degree of satisfaction. When I first met with Dr. Rookers I was pleased, but then things took a turn for bad. My young cat began bleeding anally. He did this at midnight when all offices are closed. I call the next morning and inform them of what was going on the night before. Of course as mom of a fur baby I am somew... read more

Been going to Sacajawea for years to get my birds beak's and nails clipped. My last visit was charged $27.82 which is about the going rate. Today I had 1 bird done and was charged $65.47. I asked why and was told that was there new rate. With such a great increase you would think I would have been told before hand. Well needless to say I won't be going back!

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that veterinary care can be costly, which is why we always try to accommodate our clients to the best of our ability. As we explained at your visit, we have not seen you or your bird since 2014 and in order to provide the best care for your bird, a doctor needs to do the beak trim. If you wish to discuss anything further, we would be happy to do so and kindly ask that you give us a call.

Sacajawea vet use to be where I took my fur baby. My girl is my companion my friend my baby. She is what keeps me going when I think I can not. She recently needed to be seen by a professional health care provider. I went to Sacajawea vet and had two friends accompany me. I explained that finances are tight. I am a disabled senior citizen. They said they understood and would be able to do surgery on my girl for $600 dollars. They gave me no other options. I had the surgery done and thought okay I will have to borrow from Pet... read more

Business response:

Hi Sue. As animal lovers and pet owners ourselves, everyone at Sacajawea admires the love you have for Shelby and understands that you want what's best for her health. When discussing treatment options for her condition, you chose to start with the more cost effective treatment, knowing there was a possibility the condition would return. Unfortunately it did, and while we can understand how stressful it is that the procedure didn't work, it was known and explained to you prior to any treatment that this could happen. Our tea... read more

Interesting how certain negative reviews curiously disappear...... This place used to be amazing, and I think many people continue to go based on historical reputation...Staff has changed people....and not for the better.

Business response:

Hi Linda. The only way to have a review removed on Yelp is if it violates Yelp's posting guidelines or if the reviewers removes it themselves. We are saddened to hear you don't find us to offer the same quality of care as before, but we can assure you that we still practice exceptional veterinary care with a team of knowledgeable and dedicated team members. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

I took my cat there many times before I decided enough is enough. I had to find a more professional clinic. My baby had a bad infection from a bite wound, it was the size of a nickel and wide open. Since they know I'm limited financially, they said they've such large wounds heal w/o surgery and this might too. It didn't. He died. My son brought his pug in for a shot, when they got in the car after the shot, dog went into convulsions. It was a heart stopping moment. The shot was too much for his small size and meant for a la... read more

My experience with this veterinary clinic is that in urgent and emotional medical situations with your pets, they push the most expensive options first without regard to the effectiveness of the treatment. They used to be considered a quality and caring veterinary clinic, but ownership or management must have changed...the treatment of both the pet and pet owner fluctuates wildly. I will not subject myself or my fur babies to this treatment again, plus their pricing is outrageous !!

Business response:

Hi Linda. We apologize you feel you have not received consistent care and service during your experience with our hospital. Our team works exceptionally hard to always provide exceptional care for our clients and patients, as this has always been our number one priority. We strive to offer clients a variety of options for treatment so as to work with them to find the best fit for their personal circumstances and their pet's well-being. We take these comments seriously and will make sure to try and continue to further enhance... read more

The first time we came in everything was okay. Not great but okay. The staff wasn't very friendly and the doctor was aloof. The second time we came back we sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes while other folks who had appointments after ours were seen. We showed up 15 minutes early and had been there waiting before the other folks even showed up. They could've at least acknowledged the fact that we had been waiting so long and apologized. As dogs and cats came and went our poor German Shepard had to sit and wait patiently... read more

Business response:

Hi Claire, thank you for your review. We know how important your time is and want to sincerely apologize for your wait at your last visit. While it appeared that other clients who had later appointments were seen ahead of you, those clients were scheduled with a different doctor. Once again, we are sorry if this was not made clear to you and will work on communicating with our clients more clearly. We do our best to offer excellent client service and want to assure you we will review this incident as a team to ensure it doe... read more
