About this business

WellnessRehabilitation Center

Our transitional rehabilitation program focuses on patients returning to their home as quickly as possible. We strive to ensure that each aspect of our patient's care exceeds their expectations resulting in a positive patient experience. Because we serve a population of people at high risk to COVID-19, we are currently following current guidelines from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) by not allowing visitors, including family and friends, to our campus until further notice. My grandmother, Hilda Messick, was in the rehab unit for about 3 weeks before she passed there yesterday, very peacefully. Our experience was wonderful: before her sudden decline, she had made incredible progress with their rehab staff who were so kind and patient. The nursing staff were great, especially Alison, who helped us through the last three days of her life with such compassion and attention, and the wonderful housekeeper who worked all morning Monday to secure a snack cart for us. Our family are so grateful for eve... read more

After my family member underwent surgery, they were sent to SalemTowne for rehabilitation. Several days into their stay they experienced multiple issues that were repeatedly attributed to anxiety for multiple days by the SalemTowne staff. Concerned for their well-being, we called EMS ourselves due to them having continuous difficulty breathing, which ultimately led to their hospitalization. I feel that if their concerns had been addressed appropriately, it is possible that hospitalization and subsequent perilous circumstance... read more

When my mother was being discharged from Forsyth Hospital back in March, I had to find a rehab facility so she could regain her strength and be well cared for in my absence. Mainly, I wanted a place that was clean, safe and adequately staffed with people who were professional and focused on her overall improvement; and definitely not a nursing home environment. Sadly, not many people at the hospital could suggest a place that met my criteria, but the few that did have knowledge of Salemtowne ALL had good things to say. Th... read more

The facility is nice but it's not such a good place to work anymore. They do not care about their employees! Terrible communication and management. They are not understanding or empathetic to their staff. Without CNAs residents would get no care and all CNAs doesn't truly care. All of the really good CNAs have left to find better higher paying jobs. Without good staff, residents will not keep returning. Turnover rate is very high. I'm disappointed that I spent 6 years working through blood, sweat, tears, with declining healt... read more

I had hip replacement November 2019 and stayed a week at Salemtown Rehab. The building/ambience is beautiful and the bathrooms were easy to use. The staff were all friendly and efficient. The physical therapy was great. The Cafe was convenient and had a few good meal items. However, the building has poor soundproofing so when employees walked down hallways talking at night at a normal volume, they often woke me up - and others I'm sure. There was no designated quiet time so a neighbor maybe played TV with loud volume at 2 ... read more
