Went here for a business lunch. The waitress wasn't the best, she kept forgetting which wine/beverages we'd ordered, which was a little funny since there were only two of us. The noise level was very low, however the place was almost 2/3rds empty. It was the Tuesday before Canada Day, so the whole core was really quiet anyways so perhaps this doesn't mean anything. The chef overcooked our CAB steaks twice. It still tasted OK and the manager took them both off the bill but it was disappointing as the menu claims they are world best. That may be true but not when they are not cooked to one's liking. Ran into Jason on his night off who also works in the kitchen. He was apologetic about our experience and claimed his steaks are always cooked to perfection so i will give them another chance but will take him up on his offer to cook the perfect steak.
Wonderful experience here. The server provided excellent service and suggested the Stampede Sour. Good cocktail. The steaks were cooked appropriately as well. It seems difficult to find a place that cooks a medium rare correctly.
We had the pleasure of being served by the best most friendly and engaging server I may have had in years.
We had booked a table for two but then called the day before the reservation to increase the booking to six including two children. This was no problem, I asked about a kids menu but while they do not have one they could work out something for the kids. We had no problem with getting food of the kids and the serving staff did everything that they could to make out meal very good. Great spot for lunch. Recommend making a reservation, especially for Thursday or Friday.
I visited saltlik quite often before. Mentioned to manager the consistency wasn't quite up to standard when I visited last time. Happened same again. Food was good, ambience is nice, service was average. I really like dining here, but there are always something. BBQ ribs was amazing, Calamari was good, but the portion of tuna tartar and lobster mashed potato looked way way smaller than I had before, wasn't sure if you were running out of it or something. Overall is still good. Would still come back again.
Not my first time to Saltlik but had a bad experience last time I had lunch with a client. I ordered sirloin steak and the special veggies. The veggies was late and the steak was, although medium rare, chewy and hard to eat to the extent that I was only able to take a couple of bites and I was done. The server and restaurant manager were very apologetic an offered another steak but was too late already. Needless to say, both the veggies and steak were taken off the bill.
