First, let me say that Chloe gives a thorough exam, probably the best skin exam I've had so far. Now on to my complaint. They called to remind me of my appointment and mumbled something on the answering machine (yes, an old fashioned phone) about it being at something something Pennsylvania Ave, but nothing about having changed location. I love Schweiger Dermatology! I had a bad case of hives upon awakening, which I'd never had before. The staff and NP DeSanctis were kind and generous. They were able to squeeze me in immediately. She answered all my questions, gave me advice, and I had prescriptions ready at my pharmacy in 15 minutes! I've been a patient there for about 5 yrs. and have been seen by 5 different doctors. I can't say enough about this dermatology & aesthetics group! My friend and family physician recommended them. I have had some serious skin issues in the past and was skeptical at first. My original dermatologist retired, so I started visiting this group about six years ago. They are phenomenal! Katy Weber is there to meet all of your aesthetic issues and Dr. Fenkl can handle the serious ones. Both have great bedside manners. You won't be disappointed. I'm so appreciative of these wonderful and hard-working professionals!

2 weeks ago my elderly husband had a spot removed. Last week they called and said that a bigger area needed to be excised but didn't tell him why. I (45 year nurse) called 4 times to verify what "spot" and despite detailed messages not once was called back with the information requested. Would not go back to this office if they paid me. The very worst patient care I think I have ever seen.

They have a dishonest employee. If you pay with cash, they pocket it and send you a bill. Has happened multiple times.

Beware of this dermatology group, particularly the dermatologist Dr.Colleen Crandall, she cancels your appointment every time you make one. So to get an appointment with her is nearly impossible. If you do manage to get an appointment she orders you an enormous size cream that you can never use up in one year. The cost of Desonide cream for ezcema is $200 for this size, $40 for a regular size. Therefore you to have to call up to get a normal size, this is a waste of your time. About four years ago, or so, this used to be a very reasonable place to visit with a well strained staff that handled your problem efficiently. My last visit was okay, and the attending P.A. did his best to diagnose my problem. I just received my bill and it's unbelievable. $250 for an office visit. They should change the name of this group from Schweiger to SWINDLER group. What an incredible rip-off. This is a way, way over-priced group. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN. Joe S.

When this practice was still Southern Tier Dermatology, it was an excellent place with reasonable prices. After my first visit under new ownership, I had sticker shock when receiving the invoice. The fees for previous visits with Southern Tier had nearly doubled! Apparently it is now under the umbrella of a consortium with its headquarters located in New York City. Hardly local anymore and a sign of the times of large organizations coming in to eliminate competition and hike up the prices for consumers. Certainly look elsew... read more
