I had a highly negative experience with a Shurgard. Before deciding to store my valuable items with them, I made a point to call their office to inquire about the reliability of their ventilation system, as the items I intended to store were not only expensive but also susceptible to damage under poor conditions. I was reassured that Shurgard was the premier choice for my storage needs. However, upon returning to retrieve my belongings after 2 months, I was met with a shocking scene. I tried to arrange to come and look at the facilities in Kinnerton street Knightsbridge, before committing to renting a storage unit and was told that no one could come to show me around and I would have to go and look at another storage unit in kennington as the people in charge of the unit didn’t want to come. The storage facility is 2 floors DOWN underground with few loading trays, NO lift, NO driving access as its a private resident car park, meaning you have to walk and carry everything down. There is also no parking outside the actual car park meaning you would have hope that the friendly concierge from the residence let's you stay while you unload. No Shurgard staff around in case you have any questions, and its completely silent at the actual storage facility, so did not feel save when accessing storage alone. Overall I... read more
