Our 20 year old daughter attended Skyland during summer of 2022 and spent about 90 days there. She suffers from bipolar and and borderline personality disorder and was suicidal before arrival. Skyland did a great job treating her and keeping us informed. Nothing is perfect and our daughter remains on a difficult path, but she showed definite improvement coming home and remains on an independent path to recovery. In many ways I would describe Skyland as a class act and recommend them to anyone dealing with mental health i... read more

The staff was great and truly wanted us to get better. I loved how the classes were tailored specifically to my needs. I loved the community feel and the doctors were amazing, particularly dr meadows.

After an incredibly frightening and overwhelming introduction to our son's mental illness--during which he went from being a highly productive student at a very prestigious university to being a suicidal, self-isolating, and all but non-functioning young man--we desperately sought appropriate treatment. We began with a mental health outpatient program, but therapists there were so alarmed by his suicidal cycling that he was admitted to the psychiatric ward at the university's hospital. From there, he went to an intensive 28 ... read more

The best treatment center I’ve been to. The staff cares for you and everyone learns your name. The community is like a family and you really get the one on one care that you need when you’re having a tough time in life. I’m so thankful my aunt who is a therapist directed my mom to skyland Trail when I was having a breakdown and very depressed. Skyland bought me back to life and got me on the track I needed. It’s not to say that you will completely feel 100% better after being in treatment but the therapist and team teach you... read more

I attended Skyland Nov. 2015 - Feb. 2016 so the staff may have changed. My comments are based on this time period. The staff at the south residence wasn’t bad, but most definitely subpar to the fine care on campus.. (Negative attitudes, little/very limited knowledge of CBT and DBT skills and strategies.) However... The culinary staff was AMAZING! They were always so positive, made an effort to learn our names, and even remembered some of the foods we liked. Also, I particularly loved the horticulture, music, and art the... read more

I do not expect to have another visit. A slightly longer lunch period would be nice. A little better signage in the hallways may also help but that was not a significant problem. Overall i had/have very few issues.

Skyland Trail has been my source of help inpatient and outpatient around 4 years. It is the most supportive environment for mental health in the Atlanta. I can honestly say that the DBT Counseling and Skills Group have been my lifeline to overcome 17 years of great suffering from Depression and Borderline Personality Disorder.
