My home buying process was a nightmare wouldn’t recommend to my worse enemy!
Was under the impression had internet available until just before closing. Internet information was also on final paper that had information on utilities. However internet is not available and was told they have no idea when it would be available and suggested T-Mobile. If I had known this beforehand, I would have not considered the subdivision. Since I occasionally work from home, quality internet was important.
So as a whole Smith Douglas has some pretty poor standards and practices as a builder which is why I gave the company two stars. The engineering is of poor design despite elevation choices it’s just overall very questionable. The workers they hire treat our newly purchased homes like their own homes and trash the place, make disgusting decisions like urinating in my brand new tub and then your company refuses to change it out saying it’s within the company’s standard. The work was done sloppily. When we complained, nobody came back to fix anything.
I plan to tell anyone who will listen about my experience with Smith Douglas with the hope that they will choose a builder who will act with integrity and do everything the can to deliver a quality product and an exceptional experience. Smith Douglas is not capable of doing that.
There are a lot of things I have to say about Smith Douglas Homes. I purchased a new home and expected to get a good home with no defects, but that was not the case. My wife and kids were the ones to go look at the home because I am a truck driver, and I'm always away from home. When they went to look at the home, they did say they liked it. I would not recommend Smith Doughlas to anyone because I feel like they overcharged for a low-quality product that was built by unqualified tradesmen and construction managers.
