If you are a Veteran DO NOT come to this school…..Your money would be better used elsewhere. This school doesn’t care about your resources and expects you to get items you should be provided with even when your Military benefits are paid in full to them. Go somewhere else, anywhere else. The director is a Liar (Mr. ****) and so is most of the staff. I love how people over look the truth about Southern Careers. It is a PRIVATE FOR PROFIT SCHOOL!!!! Which means your education is not really a factor but your money is. You cannot transfer to or from credits to a college or university. You are better off at Alamo Colleges. The amount of money you spend here you could be using it for an Associates with a certification that can be use towards a BA in healthcare Administrations, RN, and pharmacist, unless you rather continue with that low pay hourly pharm tech and medical assis... read more
I did learn a lot when they weren't firing the good teachers . But after being done they DO NOT help you look for a job and no one will hire you once they know you have gone to that school. It's been6 months and they haven't been able to at least get me an interview. If anything go to st. Phillips they offer the same programs but they have a really good reputation. Oh and for tests they tell you exactly what to study so all you have to do is memorize the answers. So it's more about memorizing than actually studying.
After graduating from this school I haven't been able to get a job. Employers have told me that they don't hire from this school because we don't learn enough and that the school has a bad history. I wish I knew this before spending so much money.
FACTS!!! Some teachers were there to really educate administrationn is another story!!! I enrolled for an eight month program at the above y I find out I will not be able to complete my course for an additional three months.(I have kept an average grade of 95 & have not taken any leave of absences) This has some how turned into an 11month program not only for me but for many students at SCI!!! .I have spoken the director of education, student services , several of my instructors and their cooperate office.
