I came here over 5 times only to be turned around by excuses like, “You need a cleaning first” “Your appointment is cancelled” “The doctor isn’t here anymore” “You need to tell them to send over your charts” etc. Why can’t the procedures be done immediately? Why is everything so staggered? Why is the organization so bad? I live in Norfolk. I had to spend a lot of money to come all the way over here to Newport News because only they accept my insurance and I used to live here. My family has Dental Quest insurance. Before the visit, my husband checked the insurance website and confirmed that this clinic is listed as participating with this insurance plan. My husband went to the clinic, presented our insurance card, and the staff confirmed that they accept Dental Quest. An appointment was then scheduled for me. Have had pleasant experiences here, dentist workers are very kind, caring, and enjoyable to talk to. I had severe pain in my teeth where I had a previous filling done. I called them about it and they scheduled me an appointment to be seen the same day. However, I had two get two last fillings done, had to reschedule the first appointment because it was the day before Thanksgiving and I had things going on. I had a very good experience during both my initial visit and my follow up appointment. Initially, I came in due to a tooth that was causing the side of my face to swell severely. The tooth had to be removed immediately. Dr. Diaz was extremely nice and had the tooth extracted in less than five minutes. My second visit was this afternoon. The hygienist was extremely nice and friendly as well. Worst experience- repeatedly with the Hampton and Newport News offices. You are not patients to these people, you are just numbers. Been to the office for several appointments and everytime I have had to wait for 1-3 hours to be seen. They schedule 5 patients for one doctor EVERY hour. Dr. Salty, orthodontist at the NN office does nothing until you pay for ortho treatment.
