About this business

St. Monica Center is a 180 bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of South Philadelphia. It was the realization of a long-held dream of former Pastor of St. Monica Parish, Monsignor Aloysius Farrell and his aunt, Mary Townsend, when they set aside funds for the purpose of providing a Catholic nursing residence in South Philadelphia. Staff is totally incompetent and uncaring. Starting with the doctor who is in charge. When confronted with an issue such as why my 94yr. old mother wasn't getting her scheduled pain meds he turned around and completely ignored her and walked away. The staff can be confrontational and insulting, not care for your loved one in times of need such as times when she needed to use the toilet in the middle of the night and rang for nurse to help her to the toilet due to being a fall hazard and was left in a completely soaked throug... read more

My husband was there for rehab he had cancer and swollen feet he had to eat mashed foods. Not only was it filthy they made him suffer because they never came in with his meds I had to go get the nurses who were rude and sitting in the patients dining area while 5 bells were ringing. They didn't have a compassionate bone in thier body I walked in when visiting started and I asked where my husband was. I ran back to the room he was on the floor on a filthy mat because they have no guardrails now I am freaking out because how d... read more

Hello... I only give this place a 1star because I couldn't give it a ZERO!! The first time I came to visit my bestie it totally smelled like pissed everyone sitting at the nurses station congregating instead of doing their jobs 😕.this is by far the worst place I've visited. What I think that needs to be done is a new staff that's caring , loving what they do and not for the money. And needs a descent cleaning staff as well . After ALL it's about the patients. I DON'T THINK THE PATIENTS GET THE CARE THAT THEY NEED.!!

St. Monica's Rehabilitation Facility surpassed all expectations and provided outstanding care for my mother, despite any initial doubts from negative reviews. The staff, including Nurse Juliette, exemplified compassion and attentiveness, keeping families well-informed. Additionally, the facility itself was immaculately clean. I highly recommend St. Monica's to anyone in need of rehabilitation services.
