Bought a 2001 Prius in August 2009. It needed some cosmetic fixup (which I did) and the dealer had replaced the Prius battery with a refurb. Dealer managed our expectations about the cost of replacement batteries and when we could expect it to need replacement again. Still runs fine and getting over 40 MPG so we are pretty happy.
