I have been extremely happy with Dr. DeJong and his staff. and would highly recommend. He not only saw me fairly quickly when I had been waiting months with other Drs, who still hadn't seen me, to figure out what was wrong , he found the problem and removed it. He explained in detail what was happening with my parathyroid and Thyroid and what he could do to correct it. Dr. Dejong is a excellent surgeon. I was so nervous about having surgery.He eased all my worries and fear that I had. He explained and showed me what he was going to do. I am very happy with my choice to do the surgery. He did an amazing job,you can not even tell I had thyroid surgery. I have no scar and I healed wonderfully. I would recommend him to anyone who has to have thyroid surgery. He's such great ,friendly,funny ,and Great Surgeon. You will be at ease with him.
Dr Dejong did my surgery in 2002. He removed my thyroid and lymph nodes on my left side of my neck. Anyone who gets thyroid cancer should go to him. You can barely see the scar on my neck. Not to mention his bedside manner is awesome! He totally made me feel at ease! He is one of the best doctors at Loyola!
Dr. Stephen DeJong performed a parathyroidectomy on me. I would that if I needed future surgery's he would be the Doctor to perform the surgery on me.. My incision was small, neat. and almost pain free. Recovery is great. I feel so much better in my joints. The aches. and pains that I was having before surgery are practically gone. I am one week post surgery. I really wasn't expecting to feel this good after surgery so yes I am very very pleased with the outcome. I rank him "10 star."
I barely waited 2 minutes before I was taken to a room by the nurse. I think her name was Tina? She was so sweet. Dr. De Jong spent time showing me my CT scan and Ultrasound and explained what my surgery entailed. He is very calm, courteous and I felt confident I chose the right surgeon. We scheduled my surgery for 1 month later (due to the holidays being in the way) and I am confident it will go well.
In 2007, after being referred from my primary care doctor to Dr. Dejong, I was truly amazed at his courteous approach to patient care. From my first visit to months after surgery, I could not have asked for more. He did an impeccable job removing my thyroid, I had no scarring, and was amazing all throughout radiation treatment. Dr. Dejong is personable, informative, courteous, and even to this day with follow up ultrasounds etc. clearly an amazing surgeon. Very Highly Recommended!
