To purchase a company and then double the costs to your clients is absurd
The office was amazing, she was so helpful last month getting us set up and showing us the different units. We were happy with our rental - and then after our first month of renting, after we barely got all of our things into the unit - the owner raised the rent $69 a month! That's close to doubling the rent! Needless to say we will only be renting a couple of months and going elsewhere. That's ridiculous. We received two email (11/18 and 11/22)stating our rates and everything would remain the same once they purchased the property. After thinking we would get a gradual increase or they were not going to do an increase on 11/27 we received another email increasing our rate almost double beginning 1/1/2023. It was not affordable so we had to move our stuff and find another storage unit.

I was an existing tenant when Storage Star bought the complex and took over management. we got an email stating that they needed to raise prices due to "inflation" and costs are up. the average inflation rate is 9.1% and they raised our rent 80% and blamed it on inflation. i can understand a rate increase of 10-20% due to inflation but this is price gouging and blaming in on inflation as a scapegoat for greed! i called to discuss and it took 4 days to finally get them to answer the phone and i left messages every day and nev... read more
