My elderly mother lived at Styron Square North apts for about 2 years. She enjoyed living there. We really had no issues until the security deposit issue after she left. The apt manager was really great and flexible when we were moving out of state since I was not sure for several weeks when we were moving. After we moved out in May, I provided the office with my mother's forwarding address in Indiana. She had a $200 deposit. She lived alone with no pets. My fiancé and I lived in these apartments for 10 months until we moved into a home. Rather than break our lease we paid on the last two months of our lease while not living there. I went back and cleaned and made sure the apartment was in great shape when we left. When our lease ended in the first week of October 2022 I did a walk through with property management and was told everything looked great. Then I did not hear from them for months until January 2023. My husband and I lived here for 3.5 years. We both absolutely loved living here and would not have moved if we were staying in the area. The location is hard to beat with a great walking neighborhood and some awesome restaurants surrounding the square. Also, City Center is a only a 15-20 minute walk with Lidl and other grocery stores very close by. Tracey White is the most professional property manager I have experienced in over a decade. I have lived in multiple complexes in Newport News and never have I ever received such exemplary service from a property manager. I am well known in the Port Warwick community she immediately realized that and was supportive. If it wasn’t for Ms. White running my community I wouldn’t still live here. If anyone wants to live in this community I strongly suggest Ms. White as the one the one to obtain reliable information from.
This review is solely off the application process and I am not a current resident but after the reviews I’ve read on here I’m glad I didn’t move here. I applied for a 1 bedroom on a Sunday and then was contacted via email on Monday to notify me that the apartment was already rented out and that the system does not update on the weekends.
