High marks for very friendly steak house with excellent service and very good meat. The place is situated at the heart of vibrant Gaslight District on 6th Street and G Avenue once riddled with homeless people and diminishing tourism, but now there are very few signs of homeless people and a lot more convention crowds! I can thank everyone here enough. We live out of town and are used to a 24/7 city. This place closed 5 minutes before we were welcomed in. I felt bad, but everyone assured us it's no problem. Our waitress with her beautiful Italian accent made great suggestions, the food was served hot and fresh within 15 minutes. We had the Cesar Salad, Calamari and Lobster Ravioli. We were out on the town and just had a truly memorable meal at the Butcher's Cut. The meats were on display behind glass and refrigerated for view! The atmosphere was encased in warm and modern lighting. Our server Sinem was prompt, warm, friendly and professional. Strolled into The Butcher's Cut as we walked around Gaslamp to find a dinner spot at 8:30 pm. We liked what we saw on the menu, and there was no crowd on a Wednesday night. The vibe of the restaurant was of elegance, but you didn't have to be dressed up. Our server was super friendly and made small talk as we were her only table. Steaks mehh, lobster mac and cheese overrated ------------------------------------ That's basically pretty much sums up our dinner. Steak was kinda tough. Hard to appreciate any extra beefiness from dry aging. The lobster mac and cheese was mediocre. For the price I'm paying, at least give me the WHOLE tail, not half a tail! Also, they grilled the tail to oblivion and the meat was dry & tough. Pass.

So I was on my way to a supposedly "" fancy steakhouse, and not entirely paying attention because the happiest of hours was trying to close and when Apple Maps told me I was at said steakhouse I stopped, walked in and sat down at the bar without really ever looking at the sign outside and that's how I ended up at butchers cut. Being our first time here, rhe lobster Ravioli was awesome! It was stacked with lobster and had a great taste to it as well. The service was probably the best I've had downtown. Nikkie was our server and she never left us without anything we needed. She had an attitude that definitely makes us want to come back again.
