The Butcher's Cut is a steakhouse that was honestly a bit of a letdown. While the ambiance is chic and the waitstaff were great, the food felt a bit bland for the price point. The appetizers and my steak were solid, but not the most flavorful and certainly a bit below what I would have expected for that price point.
Hands down one of the best steakhouses I've been to! My girlfriend and I were staying in the Gaslamp area for the weekend and wanted to go somewhere nice for our anniversary. We were able to make reservations for our dinner which was perfect for the busy weekend. Everything was timed perfectly - drinks, appetizers, and main course all came out at a really good time. It was so cool to see the large dry aging fridge from the dining area. You get what you pay for at a place like this.

We decided to come to The Butcher's Cut for a birthday celebration and it was so fun! The restaurant is very unique itself in my opinion because you are able to actually see the aged meats encased in the glass wall which I had never seen before. Our server was great she was very attentive and made the flow of our meal very enjoyable while explaining the specials and answering any questions we had. I came here for my friend's birthday, there was a lot of us like 16 people! this is actually top on my list for restaurant week, so it's kind of good timing to try it out! our service was pretty attentive considering we were a big party, my fiance ordered the rabbi and I ordered the jordori chicken, I'm just a big fan of this chicken and had it in a while. Food and service were great for our large group visit. I got the shrimp cocktail, bone-in dry aged 22oz ribeye with scallops. There was a hiccup with my appetizer since I was told by the waiter that it was GF and yet the shrimp came out doused in soy sauce (not GF) with a side of seaweed salad (also not GF). Nikkie was awesome at making us feel welcome and comfortable as well as answering any questions we had about the menu! Very accommodating and helped us celebrate a milestone by being such a nice presence! The food was delicious and cocktails were refreshing and complimented the food well! Very warm ambiance with soft lighting and windows into the kitchen and meat cooler to see your food being prepared.

we went during restaurant week and had a wonderful experience. the food was great & our server, Manuela was particularly amazing. Would recommend to anyone visiting DTSD (also recommend ubering if you're coming from outside the area, as it's quite difficult to find parking nearby)
