Good location, safe building and garage. The floor plan is fine and very quiet in the building itself. Nice amenities - gym and rooftop garden are great. The bad - single pane windows that do not open, condensation and mold on the seals, and not blocking the noise outside, which is considerable, given traffic and construction and people having fun after the bars close at 2:30 a.m. Electric bills were high (over $250.for most of winter, with Dec at $400.) and heat pump never really worked to get apartment comfortable. I've lived here a year and a half. Maybe the best-managed building I've lived in - well maintained by a responsive staff. Best location in the city as far as access to the riverfront, capital, theaters, bars and restaurants. Easy walk or bike to Jackets, Clippers, and Crew games. Great gym, really beautiful public spaces - great place to bring visitors.
Not sure why so many low reviews on Google... I love living here! I have had almost zero problems with my apartment over the last year and a half that I've lived here - only thing was a small issue with my washing machine which was very promptly fixed after I put in a service request. The lobby is BEAUTIFUL, top notch, arguably the most beautiful building lobby in all of Columbus, which also houses a fantastic bar! The workout room is beautiful.. rooftop is a great perk too. Living in The Citizens is a dream. The location is incredible (with SECURED managed parking). The management team is professional, attentive to detail, and the property is well managed. Maintenance requests, that have been few, are easily submitted through an online portal and addressed quickly. The common areas are ALWAYS exceptionally clean. From a building perspective: very nice apartments in a fun downtown setting. The only downside is living next to a parking garage and the cold 1900s windows. The staff is a different story and leaves a lot to be desired. They regularly misplace rent checks and are perfectly happy to leave your money in an unaccounted for state.
