TLDR: Avoid living here if possible, management is terrible. Location is great, but there are other places in the area. Apartments are generic. The good: Centrally located right on the 62 bus line. It's super close to the bike trail. There is a rooftop with a great view. The amenities are decent when they're usable. The apartments are generic, but can be nice enough for the price compared to surrounding buildings. There have been some great front office employees, but they all leave. Sparknote: dont live here… if you are going to after this message, especially do not live in unit 126!!! Keep reading for explanation… I lived at the Hayes for a little over a year and could not be more excited to have moved out. This place went way downhill over the course of the past year. I have lived here for a year and a half and I'm writing this so prospective renters know what questions to ask when they come for tours. This apartment is in a great locations, and the rooms are nice and the commons spaces are kept clean. However management is atrocious and useless. We've have many issues with security in the past month and not a single email from management telling us what happened, they haven't fixed our call box and it's been months, they refuse to hire after hours security, and they won't put cameras in.... read more

I think the Hayes apartment building is great. While I would give the building itself 4 stars, I'd give the staff 5 stars. The apartmentI have is always warm in the winter, has good lighting, and is in an ideal location. The premises are clean although has funny smells from time to time (hence the 4-stars for the building, although i think this is normal for these complexes). For the staff, i have to give it 5 stars. I’ve lived at the Hayes for 3 years, and just moved to another unit inside the building. The units and common spaces are kept clean, great view from the roof, maintenance requests were prompt, and Saori from the leasing office was super helpful, responsive, and accommodating.
