I would like to heap enormous praise and accolades on the funeral director, Sarah Smith. She did an absolutely outstanding job arranging and overseeing my mother's funeral. All the staff from the director Sarah, Jordyn, Soulah, and the others, the pall bearers were amazing. They went above and beyond our expectations. They made the experience seamless for us making it a joyous one. I am sure dad is happy and smiling.... :)

The staff were lovely, but what has really bothered me over the years is the following. My parents both died within months and had a prepaid funeral wanting to be cremated. I was given the ashes in a nice bag with a box inside with their ashes in a plastic bag. Because of the weight I took a closer look at home, shocked at the size of bone fragments, now understanding why they were heavy and believing I was just ignorant of the process. I lost my wife this past week. The hospital staff was telling me I needed to make a decision soon on where my wife will be taken. I called Simple Alternative as my wife's wishes were for a simple and basic service. i was aware of the location as I live in Pickering. When I called, I was told the person I needed to talk to was busy but would call me back shortly. I proceeded to call some other Funeral Homes as well. From beginning to end, Simply Alterbative Pickering exceeded our expectations. My father passed and I called this funeral home and made an appt with Sarah the funeral director. She and the rest of the staff made everything so much easier for us. The funeral went so smoothly. Any stress we had they went above and beyond to support and guide us. Amazing, kind, patient, knowledgeable, and very supportive. Thank you again ♥️
