Located in Northern California’s Mendocino County there is a skunk running through the redwood forest, but this isn’t any skunk, it’s the world famous Skunk Train. The California redwoods, pristine coastline, and award winning vineyards are all a part of the landscape of what makes Mendocino County such an amazing place and home to this 131-year-old train.

We brought our dogs and were pleased with the service. I wish the journey was a bit farther for this trip as dogs are not allowed on the 4 hour trek. Pedalling time is maybe only about 25 mins each way and is quite easy with the electric assist. The optional hike at the junction was beautiful.
Every person was friendly and helpful, especially when we almost arrived late. They listened to our phone message and knew we’d arrive close to departure AND were nice about it. Loved the announcer and (especially) Malachi the Singing Conductor. I took my friend from St. Louis and she LOVED it!
Amazing, unique, one of a kind day. Kyle and Greg our guides were enthusiastic and knowledgable about the surroundings. Kyle's knowledge of train history was down right amazing. Mother son trip, 5 hour drive in and not one thing i would change. You bike peddle with motor assist... easy and breathtaking all at the same time. Lunch was amazing from a local deli. Tasty and plentiful. A must do if you are in this area. Highly recommended. Telling everyone about it.Thank you Kyle and Greg for the jobs that you do and taking us on... read more
Trip seemed expensive for a very short ride. We had a whole family to pay for and the four year old was full price. We saw more redwoods just driving through a grove by our home The stop was too short to really explore and waiting a full two hours vs 20 minutes didn’t seem like the best options All in all, ok for a one time experience
We always love going on the Train! The last trip we a couple years ago we did the Dinner & the train ride & loved it! This time we just rode the Train & loved it!
I loved the relaxed nature of the train ride. There was entertainment by the singing conductor and information about the environment, a brief stop for a snack and a walk in the countryside. A snack consession for drinks and snacks. Very enjoyable!
So fun, very unique experience.
Had a great time! The train ride was a blast and the venue beautiful. Great concept! Loved that the train came back every hour. Here’s what I believe could make it even better…a FULL BAND for sure…that place screams full band. The guy playing solo was good…but lost in the atmosphere (and he knew it)! A beautiful dance floor wasted! Second, a lot of time standing in line for drinks…never did get food cuz the lines were always really long. In fact we left early because we were hungry. Maybe more help in that departme... read more
Laurel was spot on awesome! She looked the part, very chipper and fun, she did a really good job and represented skunk great, she had much knowledge and we'll go again just because of her, extend the stop 10 minutes if you could, other than that, pretty cool, may do once a year
