Overall we were very happy with our trip. The staff, drivers accommodations were all wonderful. We would recommend a few changes. One, the expectation of carrying thousands of dollars in cash is unreasonable . We were a family of five adults and to carry 5-6000$ On us at all times is uncomfortable and dangerous. We always tip generously and it would be so much more convenient to pay bar tabs and tips at the end of the trip with a credit card. At the end of our trip, we had to work with staff at Gibbs farm to get additional cash. We were frustrated that Our Thomson contact person Suzanne was no help and probably should have had a call with us regarding this issue prior to the trip. At each camp we had to have exact change (which we did not have) and ended up over paying. The ceremony at the end where you hand the envelope over was another unnecessary moment. Staff was great and we always thank and say goodbye but the envelope exchange was such a expectation
Second, as much as we enjoyed meeting the Maase people, having two days at Aanashiva was to much. The market was uncomfortable and a lot pressure to spend due to the 5 of us being the only customers. We loved meeting everyone and visiting the school and home but the market and story teller etc was to much. We would have rather spent an additional day at the Crater. Overall we felt this was a once in a life time trip. The sights and experiences we had together we will cherish.
