The Thrifty hire care we have has no navigation services available unless you subscribe to a Toyota service which it won’t allow you to do. The quoted prices we were given all of a sudden had airport and govt. taxes added to the insurance cover when we went to pick it up at the airport. The USB port is not even a standard USB port so you can’t even charge a phone! We spent the entire visit looking at a mobile phone for directions. Bad experience. Plane was late so rang thrifty to get my car and it said they were closed even though online said they were still open. Got to the counter closed. Asked a staff member she said go outside and go to thrifty. We did and it was shut. Went to go line up for a car. Thought I would go back and ask hertz. And yep they helped me thank goodness. I don't want to give Thrifty Adelaide Airport 1 Star, had the worst experience of my life. The car given was not the car that I ordered and when I put my luggage in the boot the car stunk of cigarette smoke. Told the counter straight away, to be told "Nobody is allowed to smoke in our cars" .This car should never been hired out. It wrecked my short time away for a wedding and I will never hire from Thrifty and their partners ever again. I complained and never got a response and they all just gave me the runaround. I had a great experience. Staff were friendly and dealt with things quickly, the car was fresh and clean, and I didn't get caught with any of the hidden fees or charges that often come with rentals. All considered, one of the better rental experiences I've had.
We rented a Polestar 2 EV over the long weekend, the gentleman at the counter was friendly and we didn’t encounter nasty surprises after receiving the invoice. In future, the handover process could be done better for electric vehicle renters, we only realised the keys came with an Evie fob which provides you free charging with only the Evie network.
