I had an excellent experience with Thrifty Car Rental in Christchurch thanks to Daniel ( or David, not sure ~~). He helped us a lot with the multilingual setup and car-play features, taking the time to explain everything clearly so we could use the system confidently in our own language. Daniel was patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable, even after many times trying we still switch another vehicle for result~ Highly recommend 👍

Amazing service by this staff Amender during vehicle collection. He was patient and helpful and even threw it lots of recommendations like what restaurants are open at late night. He even helped me to change the email address which the AKL office keyed in wrongly, and reforwarded me the rental agreeement. This guy takes pride in his job 👍🏻 vehicle wise, it was good and nothing bad happened.

Avoid Thrifty – Completely Untrustworthy Experience!!!!!! I rented a car with Thrifty (Reservation L2830960371) in August 2025 and was shocked by their practices. • The invoice stated that I started with 25,394 km, but the car actually had around 28,000 km at pick-up (I have video proof). This made it look like I drove over 5,000 km, which is impossible. • I was also charged an extra day even though I returned the car on time. The team at Thrifty Chch Airport were fantastic to deal with. The check in process was very smooth and we were out with our keys within 5 minutes. Wonderful friendly service and honest advice from the staff. The car itself was very reliable and comfortable and we had no issues with it.
