Got to Melbourne and had a dinner reservation. We needed to change the main driver. Firstly we booked through Thrifty because there was an office at the airport. We listed pickup time as 7:30pm. Email told us to pick up the car at the Thrifty office. When we arrived at 7pm the office was closed and we were redirected to the Hertz office. Booked a car for a 5-day weekend. Thrifty in Tullamarine is managed by Ace Car Rental. We dealt with Peter and he was helpful and patient, no issues overall. The car had 40k km, was clean and in good condition. Will definitely consider renting here again!

Arrived at midday to pick up my pre-booked car hire. Still waiting for it at after 1pm. When I asked why the crazy delay I was told .. just a busy day. Unbelievably poor customer service. Using a different company next time!

Good car, clean car, quick service, friendly office staff. The only downside was that when we arrived to pick up the car we could only clearly see signs of Hertz and Ace, not from Thrifty even though it's the same office. So we walked into the gates because we thought we might had to go there. Your shuttle driver got mad with us because we weren't allowed there which we didn't know because the gayes were open and there was no sign that said it's forbidden. Appalling service. I made a booking online. My flight was delayed and when I arrived the store was closed and hotlines not open. When I returned the next morning my booking had been listed as a now show that I had to seek a refund for and the cost of a new booking was $100 more expensive. Will never book here again. Edit: I did send an email outlining the issue and they just responded with their opening hours. So so helpful.
