We had a wonderful experience renting our car from the Queenstown Thrifty. Hooikar at the customer service desk was incredibly nice, friendly, funny, and very helpful! She made us feel very welcomed and provided us with a quick & easy rental car checkout. She really made us feel appreciated and happy to be a loyal Thrifty / Hertz customer. The car we received was almost brand new. We had no issues and had a great time in New Zealand. Thank you for all your help, Hooikar! We look forward to seeing you for our next rental!
Shout out to old mate Sat 30th Aug who came through with an amazing solution coz I stuffed up my booking. I accidentally booked to collect an EV on Sun 31st when I flew in the day prior. Changing online tripled the price. I ended up with a Ford Ranger which ended up being a sensible option for our trip. The online discount was amazing too!!!
Terrible experience with Thrifty Car Rental. Absence of staff during official hours, unprofessional behavior, and incorrect information provided about reservation timing. Although an employee named Gary was helpful, the overall experience was highly unsatisfactory. Would not recommend using this service. Don't waste your time and money. Pick up was easy. Car was not cleaned properly. Smeared finger lines all over inside front window from someone wiping away condensation, not good for sunstrike. Window cleaning water bottle empty, found out after trying to clean front and rear windows on a dusty road. Easily avoided and should be done given the cost of rental.
I was a bit worried about renting after seeing some bad reviews, but everything went really well. The pick-up and drop-off process were super easy, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a low tire pressure issue when I first got the car, but they sorted it out straight away. Overall, had a great experience—would definitely recommend!😃
