Picking up the car was straight forward and very good experience. The lady at the reception was very professional. But returning the car was absolutely terrible experience - the drop-off instructions made no sense. While returning the car I parked at the marked Thrifty Parking in the rental parking at Terminal 1 and went inside the Airport to drop off the keys at the Thrifty office. I really don't understand the negative reviews. Maybe we're just easy to please. We made a reservation online the day before, showed up at 730am and the car was clean, ready and practically brand new. We were out the door in less than 5 minutes. We spent the whole day exploring outside of Sydney and brought the car back 12 hours later. We handed them the keys, they said "all good, cheers!" And we were done. Simple, easy, affordable, clean transaction for a rental car. I'm more than happy to rent from them again.

I had a positive experience renting a Mustang at Sydney airport over the weekend. Rate was competitive and car was fairly new. Will likely rent from here again. As always, I remind others to photograph the car’s condition before setting off. Cheers

It's noteworthy to mention that to pickup the vehicle, you'd need to take the (free) shuttle bus from the arrival terminal to the car park. If the reception desk at the terminal is not manned, you'd need to go to the car park to complete the paperwork. There is a online check in option that may save you some time. Beware all the hidden charges. I wouldn't use Thrifty again. Online quote was $AU350 but rude receptionist verbally listed all the extras which she said came to $AU800. She also said I needed to learn to "read the fine print" - however much of her list of extras was not documented online. After hours of travel, I was too tired to argue. There's a location fee charge of $135, then the insurance excess of $6900 - unless you pay extra to bring excess down.
