Picking up the car was straight forward and very good experience. The lady at the reception was very professional. But returning the car was absolutely terrible experience - the drop-off instructions made no sense. While returning the car I parked at the marked Thrifty Parking in the rental parking at Terminal 1 and went inside the Airport to drop off the keys at the Thrifty office. I really don't understand the negative reviews. Maybe we're just easy to please. We made a reservation online the day before, showed up at 730am and the car was clean, ready and practically brand new. We were out the door in less than 5 minutes. We spent the whole day exploring outside of Sydney and brought the car back 12 hours later. We handed them the keys, they said "all good, cheers!" And we were done. Simple, easy, affordable, clean transaction for a rental car. I'm more than happy to rent from them again.

I had a positive experience renting a Mustang at Sydney airport over the weekend. Rate was competitive and car was fairly new. Will likely rent from here again. As always, I remind others to photograph the car’s condition before setting off. Cheers

I rented an electric vehicle. While the car was great to drive recharging was not straightforward. Thrifty required the car to be at 80% or pay an additional fee. But to charge the car required at least 30 minutes and an account with an EV charging station. So better to pay the additional fee or even better don’t rent an EV. Take a hybrid instead. Won’t be using these services again. I think the undisclosed “extra taxes” are quite bizarre. Somehow our $135 car then came with a 44% or $75ish location tax, which is only disclosed after payment. Then you have the option to reduce the ridiculous $5000 excess on the car; another $90. Felt like I had arrived in a foreign place far far away and was being extorted. A very dishonest way to make money and a shame for such a large business.
