Horrible do not use this company I warned you
Therapist was rude, only stayed on phone TWENTY FIVE minutes, did not ask 'warm-up' type of questions - went right into "Why are you sad?" rather than getting to know patient. Then they charged my card without my consent, even though deductible had been met (and they charged my insurance $370 for this so called 'counseling session'.
My review is based 100% on the billing because of how unprofessional they handle patients. I am a new patient and I happen to work in the medical field in insurance so I know how things can and should work. I provided my insurance at the time of scheduling over the phone. I found my provider from my insurance website as an in network provider. I was seen twice then received a statement for a bill for $525. Nick Smith in my opinion should not be allowed to practice medicine. I was referred by my PCP for a very specific reason and Mr. Smith informed me that Thriveworks does not specialize in that even though it is on THEIR WEBSITE. I later found out this was a lie. I found him to be extremely negligent. I would never in a million years recommend him as a counselor for addiction or otherwise. He belittled me, threatened me (yes), made jokes at my expense and made completely hurtful, inappropriate comments. I reached out to Thrive... read more
I wish there was a - *. I went to Thriveworks for one appointment in 2020 and they decided to charge me for eternity even after I complained directly to them through emails and phone calls, and informed my bank of the behavior. Once again this year they were able to charge my account until I caught on to it, but by then they had taken my money. It's unbelievable that a company gets away with this again and again knowing their records show I do not visit their offices whatsoever.
Tip off company steals Money and causes more anxiety.
I dropped out of TW after a few weeks. First, they ask you for your credit card to be on file, before you even get started. Then you sign a wavier giving them permission to charge your credit card any time. Second, they bill you before your insurance gets the bill. They charged me too much & they knew I was only responsible to pay for my 20% of the bill. Then they told me to contact my insurance company. Third, they billed me for 2 doctor visits when I didn’t even see the doctor. They charged me for a doctor visit just bc I di... read more
