God forbid you have a criminal history because they employ probation officers who are also therapists. I selected a therapist who just happened to be one at a probation office I no longer go to. We go through the entire session and asks if I feel comfortable proceeding with her as my therapist towards the end. I was recommended therapy online with Thriveworks during the summer of 2021 by my undergraduate college. I can't say this enough, but if you're a student, or someone struggling with bills, please just do not use this service at all. They will ask to put a card on file (I was able to have my membership fee waived due to financial issues) but then I was repeatedly billed on this card unexpectedly for services I was told multiple times were fully covered by my insurance. The session was enjoyable. We discussed several topics of our relationships, however, the counselor was extraordinarily effective in keeping our anger and emotional conflicting emotions at bay so we could have a meaningful session.
First session was good. Lots of questions. Hopefully next session will be more about how to help/cope.
