I've been seeing Katie Howlett for a while now. She is absolutely wonderful. From the moment of our very first consult, she made me feel completely validated and was focused on my health. Her first concern was to make sure I was comfortable with her and that I felt seeing her would help me. She is highly knowledgeable, and she has helped me learn a lot about myself. I am grateful to have found a counselor as great as Katie! I really don't think I would have been able to progress as much as I have without her.
Thriveworks and it’s counselors are predatory company that seeks to make money off of people through charging frivolous late cancellation fees. The first counselor would not see us because my wife and I (separated) were in different locations on the call. She would not let me on the call. She charged us after realizing we canceled her next appointment. Her name is Melissa Futreal. Stay away from this counselor. Zero integrity and only reflection of the organization. The lady that I spoke with was very nice and polite. I called the number that was provided on the website, and it has an option to select one if you have Medicaid….well that’s what I did….I was waiting for someone to come on the line for about 10 minutes, and i wanted to confirm that they take Medicaid for insurance, and the lady told me they did not. Katie Howlett is extremely professional and it was very easy to build rapport with her. This is key in her line of work in order to establish a trusting relationship with her client. She is distinguished by her work ethic and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that her clients receive the best possible help and care for their mental health. I highly recommend her for counseling services.
We absolutely do not recommend this place, at least for teenagers. The therapist was rude, condescending, hurtful and totally unprofessional at times as well.....the absolute opposite of what we were looking for to help our daughter. I also have had to deal with multiple charges for "missed appointments " on days we had no appointment scheduled.
