I had a very disappointing experience with Thriveworks. First, the intake session rate was $395 per hour, but I was not informed of this in advance. My intake session lasted only about 30 minutes and mostly involved basic background questions. I did not feel that any meaningful value or therapeutic support was provided. I really like Michelle Swanson, just within 2 visits I have really felt a difference in my mood and behaviors just feeling lighter. She is easy going, I feel really comfortable with her its not like any therapy Ive had before - which is why I was nervous about this I had bad experiences with zoom call therapy in the past - where as this just feels like shes actually listening and giving advice and I really recommend her at Thriveworks. I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel like people should know what happened to me. I had an appointment scheduled with Thriveworks, but over the weekend I got sick with food poisoning. I also had an important job interview that had to be rescheduled to the same time as my therapy session. As soon as I realized the conflict, I immediately contacted Thriveworks to reschedule, not cancel. They told me they have a 48-hour cancellation policy and that because I didn’t give enough notice, I would be charged $135. I explained ... read more
The clinicians are fantastic - it's the admin team that is horrible. I followed my therapist from her old practice to Thriveworks. When setting up an appointment with her at Thriveworks, I checked if they take my insurance. They verified that my clinician takes my insurance. Please note, they make it mandatory that you have a credit card on file in order to schedule your first appointment. Update: It happened again. Less than 3 months. Edit: Changed to 1 star. After speaking with the “specialist” on the phone Thriveworks set me up with a therapist out of my insurance network. Great timing! I was in the hospital for over a month and I go back to work tomorrow so now I have to find another therapist. Won’t be them. Good luck to everyone else.
