I have been a loyal membership customer since they opened in Statesboro until today. I was told by the attendant that I couldn’t go through because of the bed cap on my truck. The same one I’ve gone through with many times before. I went to the office and spoke with the manager who stated he is new and it was only his sixth day here. He came out and inspected the cap and compared it to people trying to come through with bed fuel tanks or handicap scooter attachments on the back of their vehicle. Tidal Wave used to be a reliable place with free vacuums, and that was one of the reasons I chose them over competitors. Now they've started charging $5 although their own reasoning when THEY opened was that the vacuums/machines run constantly anyway, so there was no point in charging. Suddenly changing that just feels greedy. Claiming vacuums are 'free with a wash doesn't change the fact that they're now squeezing money out of customers for something that was once a core part of their service. I like the location, and it's a lot easier to get your car washed versus the other location, however the height makes it so the pavement scraps the bottom of my car. Not sure if I like it better than the other.
I joined the Total Wave Club today with the help of Justin, and I’m so glad I did! I got the $30 package and my minivan looks great! Not only did I get a fantastic wash, polish, shiny tires and all of the other goodies, but I saved so much money on their free vacuum service! I have 12 grandkids and you would not believe what the inside of my car looked like. Two hours later and I am finally finished!
