I switched from Lulus to Tidal Wave because their employees are polite, the locations are always well-staffed, and the machines always work. I have never had an issue with my barcode not working or the buffer at the end of the wash coming down to dry the windshield. There is always plenty of staff to work the entrance, do the pre-wash, run the wash, and then keep the vacuum area well-stocked. I think the big difference is their "2nd mile" initiative. Spent twenty plus dollars for a simple car wash. Unfortunately left slightly unsatisfied. There was no line or anything but had to wait for an attendant to open the gate. When i pulled through i was the second car in line and then the machines quit working for some minutes. And since no one can go in, the line if cars behind me were to the main road. I’ve been using Tidal Wave in Aiken for a while now, and it’s consistently a great experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the process is quick and efficient, whether you’re just getting a basic wash or going all-in with the top package. The staff always does a great job of prepping the car before you go through the wash which really helps make sure there are no bugs or spots when you come through the wash. Just traveled across the country and moved to the area so my car needed a good wash. Paid roughly $20 for a decent wash and when I went to dry the car off it was like it only got hosed down. All the bugs I hit along the way were all still there including their spatter. I will have to spend an additional $10-$15 to take it to a self car wash to re-do the wash basically. Not worth the $20 in my opinion. 2 stars for friendly staff and great vacuums.
