Staff are very friendly but more staff are needed. I dropped off some boots for external repair nearly 3 weeks ago, and paid in full. I was told they'd be ready in 2 weeks and someone would call with a update but not heard anything and the phone is not answered. I went in person today and Chris (temporary cover) apologised and is trying to get an update. At 11.23am on a Wednesday, this place was not open, so I walked over to Greggs to buy something, came back and it still was not open. So I left, wasted my time.
Very disappointing experience. The shoemaker is not competent. He repaired my shoe, but it came apart almost immediately before his eyes. When I tried to speak with him about it, he was rude and used threatening and bad language. I don't know how they hire such people. I strongly advise against using his services—it’s better to throw your shoes away than take them to this shop.
They don’t want the work I tried to book shows in and was told to go to another branch as they can’t be sure that the shoes be ready by the next day and it wasn’t a big repair. Was told we closing in hour and basically the young guy seemed like he did t want to have any more work.
I am sure super-friendly Dave at Timpsons Edgware should be sainted by the Pope, but he sure can't cut keys. I had three house door keys to cut. Despite charging a premium price, Dave got only one of them right while the other two did not work when I tested them in the locks. Even after two further re-cuts, they still did not work. After three to-and-fro visits costing me half a day wasted, Dave had cut seven keys of which only one worked, an 86% failure rate. Best to get your keys cut at a locksmith, as I had to do.
