My daughter has been poked probably a couple hundred times over the past 3 plus years. This lab is the BEST and most GENTLE with her. After having so many other places not listen when we say “don’t use that vein it’s blown” or “has scar tissue” or “please don’t fish for her vein” this place gets it right every time. Sue and Karen are so great with her, it makes a very tough situation so much better when we go there. Extremely disappointed with how my 18 yr old son was treated by the front desk. He is required to have a Sickle Cell screening for the NCAA & when I spoke with a gentleman on Saturday he said my son could walk in. Today, when he went in, my son was told that he needed a doctor’s prescription. He asked if he could contact me to see how to proceed, and a female told him “it’s called adulting, honey.” You, ma’am, are correct but nasty. I heard your tone when I was on the phone with him. They always get you in and out pretty quick. The lab technician I got hit the vein first try! Not like others who like to keep shoving that needle back and forth, blowing out your vein! Not for me or my better half! Good luck now that gigit is gone 😞
I have had many good experiences from the lab techs performing the blood draws. But, unfortunately I am only giving two stars because the office staff at the counter are rude and unprofessional.
My review is for the SJMHS Lab Patient Service Center, unlike some of the others. I took my 18 month old there twice a month apart for a blood draw needed for some allergy testing. The office is clean. Staff is courteous and prompt on the phone and in person. Both times, the lab technicians were kind and caring. Everything was done fast, and my boy didn't even cry. I'll be using their services again if the need arises.
