Love living at the Vieux carre! It’s peaceful, close to local coffee shops, and Mike, our maintenance guy is awesome and kind! Lots of young adults and some families. Hoping for some community events to get to know neighbors.
Have lived in a number of apartments/houses in the belhaven/Fondren area in the last 8 years and this complex has definitely been the best overall experience. Have been here for the last 3-4 years and have never had any issue with management or safety. Everything is well maintained and you get a good sense of privacy being off a frontage road while also being conveniently located within 5-10 minutes of Lakeland, County Line, Belhaven, and Fondren. I’ve lived at Vieux Carre for a little over two and a half years, and I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Here is my experience for anyone looking for a great place to live in Jackson: To start, I moved here from several hours away and could not visit in person. The property manager at the time went out of her way to take photos of the exact apartment I was applying for and send them to me, which made the process much easier and gave me real peace of mind. I have lived here for 2 years now and absolutely LOVE it! The complex is gated, affordable, safe, well illuminated at night, with a nice clean swimming pool, friendly neighbors and great staff. Any issue is promptly addressed. It is close to all the major hospitals (it takes me 3 minutes to get to to work at the VA), close to Fondren and to local stores. I will live here until I move out of state!
I’ve lived in several apartment complexes in around, and this is the one I’d really like to stay in until I finish my studies at UMMC. The apartments are clean, safe, and have a younger, friendly community. The trash areas are well-maintained and don’t smell, which is a big plus. I especially love that there’s a dog park! I’m really enjoying my time here.
