We travel to Asheville multiple times per year. This is an amazing boutique hotel. Great location. Beautifully appointed rooms. A delicious continental breakfast. Warm staff. 5 stars all around!
We absolutely loved Zelda Dearest. This place has quickly become our go-to when we’re in Asheville — the 1920s vibe, the atmosphere, the staff — all of it just works. Breakfast was fantastic and the perfect way to start the morning before heading out to explore downtown. The location is great too, easy walking distance to everything. If you haven’t stayed here yet, you’re missing out. We’ll definitely be back.

I can’t say anything negative about this establishment, and if I could it wouldn’t be for a lack of effort on the employee’s part! Every instance the staff were eager to assist us with anything from passionately recommending restaurants, cleaning rust off the bathroom vanities, coming in on some of their off days to salt the walkways when it snowed, and even sharing the recipe for their wonderful chocolate banana bread. I adored this hotel. Great location within walking distance to the Orange Peel concert venue, and great shops and dining, the staff were so kind and helpful. I would love to stay here again and try another one of their unique suites. I enjoy design and this was a gem.
Zelda Dearest is located close to restaurants, music venues, movie theater, Art Museum, lots of cute little shops. When I say close, I mean 10 minute walk or less. We parked at our arrival and didn't use the car for two days. We stayed in the Verbena Room, and it was very comfortable for two people. We each had a bedside table with lamp, there was a huge television with Roku, double vanity in the bath and walk-in shower, closet and drawers for clothing. Yes, the bar area had what might be needed. Parking area felt safe. Would have preferred a different breakfast the second morning; same egg dish and muffins, cold. No fruit was served the second morning? A warming tray would be a good addition, or keep the egg warm in the kitchen oven. The bar needs an espresso machine - a classy place like yours needs to do better than that pedestrian coffee.
